What is the RSPO?
Founded in 2004, the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil is a not-for-profit association with the objective to promote the growth and use of sustainable palm oil. Seven sectors of the palm oil industry take part in the decision process including producers, processors or traders, manufacturers, retailers, banks and investors, environmental conservation NGOs and social or developmental NGOs.
RSPO Supply Chain Certification Systems: An Explanation
RSPO Supply Chain Certification Systems is a standard to certify conformity of supply chains using RSPO certified sustainable palm oil or products derived thereof. The objective is to involve the entire supply chain, by reaching out to the consumer.
Several traceability models are available: Identity Preserved (IP), Segregated (SG), or Mass Balanced (MP).It addresses millers, refiners, processors, manufacturers, traders, retailers and others stakeholders from the supply chain.
