The Tanzania Bureau of Standards has appointed World Center for Certification & Quality to provide Pre-export Verification of Conformity (PVoC) services. This programme will start on February 1, 2012 and will be applicable to the following categories of products:
- Toys and sports
- Electrical and electronics
- Automotive
- Chemical products
- Mechanical material and gas appliances
- Paper and stationary
- Furniture (wood & metal articles)
- Safety (personal protective) equipment
- Food and food products
- Used products
Companies exporting these kinds of goods to Tanzania have to get the required Certificate of Conformity after having the conformity of goods checked prior shipment. To do so, exporters are advised to contact World Center for Certification & Quality with the list of products and related conformity proofs to Tanzanian standards or international/regional/national standards.
To facilitate trade and to adjust intervention according to the risk, the PVoC programme offers 3 different routes to demonstrate products compliance:
Route A: Applicable to any goods and any trader
Route B: Option for frequent traders of goods that have been registered by World Center for Certification & Quality
Route C: Option for frequent traders of goods that have been licensed by World Center for Certification & Quality
