Course Introduction

Gain a good understanding of the new International standard ISO 14001:2015, the fundamentals of an environmental management system (EMS) and the many benefits an organisation can derive from the operation of an effective EMS.

·         Explain the purpose of an environmental management system, environmental management system standards and the many benefits to a business from the implementation of an environmental management system

·         Outline the structure and content of ISO 14001 and its relationship with ISO 14000

·         Explain the specific environmental management related requirements of ISO 14001:2015

·         ISO 14001 integration with other management systems such as ISO 9001.

·         Environmental issues and how to assess and determine environmental aspects and impacts

·         Summary of key environmental legislation and relevance of legislation to an EMS

·         Structure and key requirements of ISO 14001

·         Setting environmental objectives

·         Continual improvement process for an EMS

·         Monitoring, measurement and analysis

Delegate Assessment

Assessment is carried out by continuous assessment of delegate performance throughout the theoretical and practical phases.  Delegates who successfully complete both the examination and the continuous assessment will get a certificate of attendance by World Center for Certification & Quality Certification after the course. 

Pre-requsities

No previous knowledge is necessary, as the course starts from the basic concept and definitions of an environmental management system and explains the development of environmental standards up to the current requirements of the ISO 14001:2015 standard.

Intended for all levels of personnel who are requiring an understanding of the ISO 14001:2015 standard, of environmental management systems along with the impacts on the environment from an organisations activities. This course is also proving significant for those who are planning to attend the ISO 14001:2015 EMS Internal Auditor course.
