Learning Objectives
By the end of the course students will be able to:
- Understand the ISO 14001:2015 standard
- The purpose, structure and significance of a EMS
- Understand key environmental issues
- The terms and definitations used in auditing, including objectives and scope
- Auditor/ lead auditor responsibilities
- Plan an audit against the audit criteria of the documented procedures
- Successfully execute an environmental management systems (EMS) audit
- Understand the differences between QMS and EMS audits
- Gathering and evaluating objective evidence
- Create clear, concise and relevant audit reports and follow-up
- Communicate your report to a client
Methodology
The course uses a mixture of taught sessions, discussions and practical exercises to achieve its aims. The practical exercises are based upon a fictional company.
However, the procedures, work instructions and data are typical and could relate to many different enterprises equally. The practical exercises have been carefully designed to focus upon issues that commonly arise during EMS audits.

Delegate Assessment
Assessment is carried out by continuous assessment of delegate performance throughout the theoretical and practical phases. And there is a two-hour examination for this course.
Delegates who successfully complete both the examination and the continuous assessment will get a certificate of attendance by World Center for Certification & Quality Certification after the course.

Delegates would be awarded a certificate of successful Completion by IRCA. It is also satisfy the formal training requirements for IRCA EMS Auditor Certification scheme. (Please visit IRCA website: www.irca.org for more details)
Pre-requsities
Familiarity with the structure and requirements of ISO 14001:2015 and internal auditing would be useful, but not essential.
